Hi, I’m Lindsay Uvery

I have always had a passion for animals, and I wanted to have a career working with them. I got my grooming certificate in 2010 and started grooming off and on. Originally from Saskatchewan, I decided to move to Manitoba in 2014 and continued grooming. In 2016, started attending Red River and in 2019 I graduated with a business diploma. In 2020, my husband and I bought a house in Tyndall, MB and I started grooming again. I began looking further into feline grooming, so I enrolled at the National Cat Grooming Institution and started studying in feline grooming. I opened a small salon in Tyndall which is now Majestic Paws. I believe felines need to be groomed and there is so much misinformation about cat grooming. They deserve to be professionally groomed and pampered! With my knowledge, training, and tools, I am very confident in my work and know that your pets will be pleased.

I am a fully certified feline behavioralist, trainer and nutritionist, and now a certified dog groomer.

  • My feline hates baths, what now?
That is a myth, cats just are not introduced to water. I am a professional feline groomer, and I am trained in feline grooming and therefore I have proper handling techniques. Please note not all cats can be groomed, some do need to be sedated and taken to a vet.
  • Why do cats need grooming, don’t they clean themselves?
No, they lick themselves. They get greasy fur, dandruff, dirty bums, mats, dirty ears, dirty eyes, fleas, and they can stink. With the proper grooming all this can be prevented and maintained.
  • My cat has scratching posts; do they need their nails done?
Yes, cats do need their trimmed every 4-6 weeks. They can curl and become embedded into the paw pad. This can cause infections
  • What is a DeShedding?
A DeShedding is when I bath your feline this help loosen any dead hair and using my hv dryer to release all the undercoat. Then I finish your feline with a thorough comb out.
  • How often should I get my feline groomed?
Cats shed usually every 21-28 days sometimes more. I recommend grooming every 4-8 weeks depending on the type of coat. Typically, a diluted cat (blue) needs frequent grooming vs a dominate colour (black) cat.
  • What causes matting?
Matting is caused when the undercoat doesn’t shed properly, and all that dead hair gets trapped with the guard hair and get tangled with the grease. Getting your feline on a grooming schedule will help prevent that.
  • Is matting harmful?
Yes, matting is painful and can cause movement to become strict, they can cause infections, and they are painful more the feline. It is painful to have them removed that is why frequent grooming is important.
